We will be performing maintenance on CARC systems starting at 1:00 PM PDT on Friday, October 31 and ending at 5:00 PM PDT on Sunday, November 2. During this time, compute nodes—including login and transfer nodes—and file systems will be unavailable, and you will not be able to run jobs on the clusters.
We will be working on:
-
File system maintenance for /home1, /project2, and /cryoem2
-
Updating NVIDIA GPU drivers
-
Updating the Slurm job scheduler
-
Deploying new login nodes for Discovery and Endeavour
Please note that we will also be making the /project file system read-only during this maintenance period. After November 2, you will no longer be able to write any data to /project. You will still be able to transfer your data to /project2 until January 1, 2026. Please migrate your data as soon as possible to avoid any data loss. To read more about the data migration, please read this article on our website.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance migrating your data, please submit a ticket to carc-support@usc.edu.
