I am running STAR aligner but have not been able to complete the run due to connection being terminated. The alignment runs for about ~25mins and then gives me a message saying it has been terminated by a remote host.
Any help is appreciated.
You should not be getting disconnected from discovery every 25 minutes. That said, you should be running STAR aligner as a batch job which will never be interrupted due to network disruptions.
Please read more about the process on our webpage here:
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about something not described in the documentation.
There are many reasons why you might be getting disconnected from the login node though. Does it happen frequently and if so, does it tend to happen more often when you are at a certain location?
Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried it twice now. Once using the VPN Cisco via my Mac at home and the other time I was remoting into my lab desktop located in NTT/Norris at HSC from home.
I will look into running it as a batch job and will reach out if I run into any issues.
Thank you again,
