Enabling X11 forwarding using XWin-32

Hi,

We are trying to open the license GUI for a software on Discovery. But it gives an error as in the following screenshot:

We are connecting to the server using the -X option with ssh, which means that X11 forwarding should be enabled. The computer also has XWin-32 installed. Does anyone know what we might be doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

You’ll need an “X server” installed. XWin-32 should just work. You can verify by running the xeyes command. If it works, you should see a pair of eyes that follow the mouse cursor pop up.

You could also try installing Xming http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/

Thanks. I have Win32 installed. I used xeyes command in it to connect and I was able to see apair of eyes. But I still get the same error as in here-

Any ideas what might be causing it?

Hi,

The xeyes command did not work for me. It gave an error saying ‘Can’t open display’ (attached screenshot). I have XWin-32 installed. Are there any other settings which need to be changed in XWin-32?
