Upcoming CARC and ITS Maintenance: May 24-25 & May 30

We will be performing maintenance on CARC systems starting on May 24 at 2 PM PST and ending around midday on May 25. All CARC resources, including compute nodes and storage, will be unavailable during this time. We will be updating Slurm and various applications during the maintenance.

As a reminder, we are also conducting a data purge on /scratch1 during the maintenance. All data stored in /scratch1 will be permanently deleted. /scratch1 will also be unavailable during maintenance. Please refer to our data transfer user guides for instructions on transferring any important data out of /scratch1. The majority of your data should be stored in the /project file system. If you are moving data to /project, please use rsync -rlt instead of mv or cp.

Additionally, please be aware that USC ITS is performing network maintenance on May 30 between 9 PM and 2 AM PST. During this time, either hpc-transfer1 or hpc-transfer2 will be unavailable. Each transfer node will be unavailable at different times—one transfer node will always be active at any time.

Thank you for your patience during these maintenance windows. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at carc-support@usc.edu.
