9:00 – 11:00 AM PST: Scientific Computing: Overview of an HPC Cluster and Essential Linux Commands
An overview of CARC’s HPC ecosystem and discussion of basic Linux shell commands followed by a brief introduction to python and writing our first program with it. This is followed by discussing the need for version control and setting up your Github repository.
1:00 – 3:00 PM PST: Data Analysis and Visualization using Pandas and Matplotlib
An intermediate course on Python with specific emphasis on data analysis and visualization. It will cover the use of Panda and Matplotlib, popular libraries for data processing, manipulation, and visualization.
We’re also hosting an exciting guest workshop on Friday, September 22 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. NVIDIA will be providing a hands-on experience accelerating Python code with NVIDIA GPUs. You won’t want to miss this one!
